What I Do

I offer a variety of research and editorial services:

  • Research, fact-checking, and information services. I am an experienced and creative researcher, skilled in finding and using print and digital resources as well as analyzing, summarizing, and organizing information. I especially like working with writers of either fiction or nonfiction.
  • Content development and editorial services. I write and edit all kinds of content for print and the web, and I consult on the development and redesign of websites, publications, and marketing materials.
  • Research workshops and classes. I teach writers how to do creative research and find sources of information through public and private classes and individual coaching. I’ve spoken about research for writers of science fiction and fantasy for the Clarion West Writers Workshop, fact-checking for the Northwest Independent Editors Guild, and blogging for the March 2009 Editors Guild conference.  At Richard Hugo House I taught a 4-hour “Research for Writers” class in May 2009 and a 7-hour “Creative Research for Writers” class in October 2009 and May 2010.

I am available for projects large or small, and my services are billed by the hour.  Please contact me for more information.
