“Let the wild rumpus start!”

Here’s a cute video of President Obama reading Maurice Sendak’s Where the Wild Things Are to a group of children at the White House on Easter:

Wouldn’t it be great if Obama could do this every week? A Presidential book club for kids!

Thanks to MobyLives for the tip.

  1. I used to ‘teach’ Where the Wild Things are to a group of kindergartners. It was the best!! We ALL got into the acting out of the story … and the repetitive lines are great for teaching literary recall and comprehension!! Good choice, Obama.

  2. I LOVE THIS! Thank you so much for posting it. I think your idea of a Presidential Book Club is perfect. It could be like a fireside chat for literacy. I hope Obama’s media team is listening.
